How the fees work
myPOS does not charge one flat rate: its in-person fee depends on the card. UK and EEA consumer Visa, Mastercard, Maestro and V Pay cards are 1.10% + 7p, while commercial cards, cards issued outside the EEA and other card brands are 2.85% + 7p. American Express carries its own rate (some recent reviews report it at the low consumer rate, others around 2.45% + 7p), so confirm the current Amex fee for your account. Use the card-mix control above to weight UK and EEA consumer cards against the dearer commercial and international cards.
Channel matters too: payment requests and links are 1.30% + 15p and manually keyed or phone (MOTO) payments are 2.90% + 15p. There is no monthly fee on the standard plan, a free 4G SIM is included with readers such as the Go 2, and funds settle into your myPOS account in about three seconds.
Custom pricing is available above roughly 10,000 pounds a month in card turnover, but myPOS does not advertise it prominently, so ask before accepting the published rate if you process at that level.
