How the fees work
Lightspeed is really an EPOS and inventory platform rather than a simple card reader, so its main published cost is the software subscription: Retail plans run from about 75 pounds + VAT a month (Basic, Core, Plus) and Restaurant plans from about 79 pounds + VAT a month.
Lightspeed Payments is the built-in card processor, but the UK per-transaction rate is provided on quote rather than published, so the figure in this calculator is a representative card-present estimate, not a confirmed price. Confirm your exact rate with Lightspeed before committing.
Hardware (terminals, iPad stands, printers, cash drawers) is sold separately and is not always priced on the UK site, so ask for a full hardware quote. Lightspeed does accept American Express, which some cheaper readers do not.
