How the fees work
Tide Tap to Pay turns a compatible iPhone into a contactless terminal through the Tide app, with no hardware to buy. The rate is 1.5% + 11p (the model changed in April 2026 from a flat 1.65%), and unlike Tide's physical card reader it does accept American Express.
A Tide business account is required, since payments settle into your Tide balance. It is a useful free backup or a primary option for low-volume, on-the-go selling.
