Clearpay: UK 2026 Pricing & Fee Calculator
Clearpay (Afterpay) lets shoppers split a purchase into four interest-free instalments while you get paid up front. Its merchant fee is agreed per retailer; the figure here is a typical estimate.
What Clearpay charges
| Fee | Rate |
|---|---|
| Who pays the fee | The merchant (you), not the shopper |
| Merchant fee | Typically around 4% to 6% + 30p |
| Shopper cost | None (late fees may apply) |
| You get paid | Up front, in full |
How the fees work
Clearpay pays you the full order value up front and collects four fortnightly instalments from the customer, taking on the credit and fraud risk. In return it charges the retailer a commission that is higher than a card fee. Clearpay does not publish a single rate, so the 5% + 30p used here is a typical industry estimate; apply through Clearpay for Business for your exact quote.
Shoppers pay no interest or fees when they pay on time, which is why BNPL can lift conversion and average order value. Clearpay is moving into full FCA regulation, expected during 2026.
