Amazon: UK 2026 Pricing & Fee Calculator
Amazon charges sellers a referral fee on each sale, with most categories between 8% and 15%, plus a selling plan: 25 pounds a month for Professional or 75p per item for Individual.
What Amazon charges
| Fee | Rate |
|---|---|
| Referral fee (most categories) | 8% to 15% |
| Minimum referral fee | About 25p per item |
| Professional plan | 25 pounds + VAT / month |
| Individual plan | 75p per item sold |
How the fees work
Amazon bundles its main selling cost into a single referral fee, charged as a percentage of the total sale price (including delivery, excluding VAT). Most categories fall between 8% and 15%, with a minimum of around 25p per item. The calculator uses a typical 12% referral fee; check Seller Central for your exact category rate.
You also choose a selling plan: the Individual plan costs 75p per unit sold (best under about 35 items a month) and the Professional plan costs 25 pounds + VAT a month regardless of volume (best above that). For 2026, Amazon reduced referral fees in several categories such as clothing, home and grocery.
If you use Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA), storage and fulfilment fees apply on top of the referral fee. With self-fulfilment (FBM) you avoid those, but the referral fee still applies. A 1.5% fuel and logistics surcharge applies to UK FBA fees from April 2026.
