eBay: UK 2026 Pricing & Fee Calculator

eBay UK charges sellers very differently depending on type: UK private sellers now sell for free, while business sellers pay a category-based final value fee plus a per-order fee and VAT.

What eBay charges

FeeRate
UK private sellers Free (buyer pays Buyer Protection)
Business final value fee 6.9% to 14.9% by category (most 9.9% to 12.9%)
Per-order fee 30p (40p on orders over 10 pounds)
Regulatory operating fee About 0.35%
VAT on fees 20% (reclaimable if VAT registered)

How the fees work

Since late 2024, UK-based private sellers pay no final value fee and no regulatory operating fee on standard sales (eBay charges the buyer a Buyer Protection fee instead). Fees can still apply if you list very high volumes, add optional listing upgrades, or post overseas.

Business sellers pay a final value fee that depends on the item category, ranging from about 6.9% to 14.9% (most everyday categories sit around 9.9% to 12.9%), plus a 30p per-order fee (40p on orders over 10 pounds), a regulatory operating fee of about 0.35%, and 20% VAT on the fees. VAT-registered sellers can reclaim that VAT. The calculator uses a typical 12.9% + 30p business rate.

There is a maximum final value fee cap of 250 pounds per item in most categories, and Top Rated Sellers get a 10% discount on the variable fee. eBay Motors uses flat insertion and sale fees instead of percentages.
